Hit the road.

To hit the road means to leave, especially to return home, or to depart on a journey.

For example:

We have to hit the road very early in the morning.

It’s getting kind of late, so I think I’m going to hit the road.

We plan to hit the road around 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, so we can arrive in New York in time for dinner.

I’d love to stay longer, but it’s really time to hit the road.

I was relieved to get back in the car and hit the road again.

Tradução: pegar a estrada, ir nessa, partir.

Listen to the song Hit the Road by Ray Charles.
